INTENDED USE: At 65mm deep this wheelset is aimed specifically at triathletes and time triallists - This is the latest addition to our Premium “Ultimate” full carbon range. Fully specced with the latest carbon FILAMENT WOUND (FW) technology to create a fantastic ride performance, with superb braking, cushioning, cross-wind handling and heat dissipation.
IN STOCK:READY TO BUILD
This wheelset is ideal for Triathlons, Time Trials and fast leisure riding too. They are "2-Way Fit", Meaning they are designed for both clincher tyres and the new generation of tubeless tyres.
Our standard AEROLIGHT builds are based around superb Italian made sealed hubs and PSR aero spokes.
When specced with the wonderfully aero and light PSR SL spokes and Bitex lightweight 'all season' hubs (our SUPERAEROLIGHT version) they come in at 1595 Grams a PAIR!
- Or for the highest possible performance in race wheels, combining light weight, fast engagement and maximal aerodynamic performance go for our SUPERAEROLIGHT++ build. This weighs in at a tiny 1530 grams and employs Bitex's lightest hubs and the superlative CXRAY spoke (the lightest, most durable and most aero spoke on the planet!)
Or if you can - go for the Ultimate in precision engineering go for our DTSWISS builds!
Your wheels will be hand built to order here in the UK by Andy Morgan, owner and founder of k1 wheels. (current build times are shown above).
Our premium full-carbon wheelset utilises patented “filament-wound”, robotic-built, ultra-high temperature K1-65FW rims.
Sounds fancy: Filament winding technology is an automated method which has revolutionised rim consistency in the manufacture of full carbon wheels. Made from single carbon filaments - the manufacturing process enables precise control of every step - resulting in the roundest, strongest, lightest wheel combinations.
This level of precision and care extends throughout the entire quality control process - with each and every rim X-Rayed for structural uniformity and compliance.
Not only does this make for stronger, longer lasting wheels - but also the nature of the "winding process" facilitates another new technology that massively increases braking capability - especially at high temperatures.
The filament winding process enables the injection of a patented ultra heat resistant resin - directly into the carbon filaments - whilst the rim is built. This means the rim's braking surface is fully impregnated with resin during manufacture - rather than a braking surface being added to the surface of the rim post-production.
This makes for far superior and extended rim life - and for better braking - especially on longer descents. These rims have their braking performance tested up to 230 degrees celcius. This is 20 degrees higher than our previous rims - and as high as any top-end rims on the market.
NOTE: Whilst rim tech has leapt forward in recent years - there are still some major things users of carbon wheels need to know! Please do read our page on safe braking and care for your carbon wheels HERE
Handbuilt in the K1 workshop in Gloucestershire. We combine traditional wheel-building techniques with cutting edge technology. And the world of carbon wheel-tech moves endlessly forward! Exciting times!
YOU CAN RUN THESE WHEELS WITH CLINCHERS OR WITH TUBELESS TYRES: IF YOU WANT US TO SUPPLY AND FIT NEW TYRES WE CAN DO THIS FOR YOU - so that you're ready to ride them straight out of the box. CLICK HERE if you'd like to purchase this option!
Ideal for tyres from 25c right up to 30c and beyond. Perfect for running tyres at lower pressure and arguably more aerodynamic and faster rolling than traditional hoops.
The rim width debate will continue to rage and rage. What with rims now available from 19 mm right through to 28mm wide. We've decided to go straight down the middle and our rims are Significantly wider than old-school rims but not crazy wide. We think that's the best place to be!
Offered With Full Warranty and professional mechanic support in-house.

Great wheels and superb service from Kinetic One. I bought these for my wife's birthday present. Kinetic One made sure that they arrived in time for an event too. Build quality is excellent.
Absolutely love my wheels not only do they look the bee's knees they preform like it aswell! Cant wait to get a new set when i get my new tt bike!!
Thanks for sending the wheels. I'm running them with 23c tyres as that's the maximum my rear brake (Giant Propel) will allow, but the profile seems fine.
Just to confirm what you already knew... they are fast! I did a little test ride when they arrived but today was the first time I have used used them for the commute to work - so a route I have travelled probably 250+ times.
Although conditions were pretty favourable, there was no significant tail wind and yet I still set my fastest ever time to work and set quite a few PRs on Strava on the way. Thanks very much - great wheels! Paul.
This is the first time that I've ridden Aero Wheels. I was a little concerned at first that they might be a problem in the wind, but all my fears have come to nothing! I have ridden these in some very windy conditions recently and the effect has been minimal. They are fast wheels (I cannot think that the gain in speed is all me!), look good and sound great. I was passing a fellow cyclist the other day (something that doesn't happen too often the older you get) when he commented "I heard you coming" at which point I said that I wasn't puffing that hard, and he smiled and said "No, your wheels sound great". So it's not just me!
Didn't have the money for Zipps - wanted wheels that were aero, and a bit nice - but also had to be tough - as i''ve not alot of dosh! The kinetics have done me proud in sportifs and doing a few tri''s. For the money they are really something. They did forget to include Quicl Releases - but i rang up and they came next day.
These wheels are a step change from what I'd been used to and have made a noticeable difference to my acceleration and top speed. It feels like they spin with almost no effort and climbing with them in the Kent Alps is a joy. I don't race, but happily fly along on the open road at 30+mph with these wheels. Would highly recommend.
