INTENDED USE: Our toughest ever road / adventure 700c aero disc brake CLINCHER wheelset. FOR RIDERS UP TO 150kg!
33mm deep and 24mm wide. Tough enough for the hilliest and roughest of Trails, yet fast-accelerating enough for the busiest of Sportives - and aero enough to ensure that you gain every possible watt of drag reduction.
Beautifully finished in matte Gunmetal black, superbly strong and packed full of the latest rim tech for heavy riders or the heaviest duty riding. And 24mm wide to make the most of the new generation of 25mm, 28mm and 32mm clincher tyres. In fact you can use tyres up to 40mm plus on these!
Whether you’re riding towpaths, hillpaths, forest trails, or flat out sportives or cross this wheelset will enable you to ride fast, for many years, over varying terrain. It’s all about the combination of aerodynamic profile, superbly light / strong components coupled with the quality and robustness of build that only handbuilt wheels can offer.
Features our tried and tested SUPERTOUGH RIM. This rim is tough enough to be used on tandems so you can see why it’s great for heavier guys too.
We combine these rims with PSR AERO spokes and the fab Bitex BX207 32/32 hubs for riders up to 135kg, or in 36/36 hole up to 140kg riders. Or for the ultimate in performance/strength we combine BX207 36/36 hubs with the CXRAY spoke for riders up to 150 kg
These really are tough but equally are as aerodynamically fast and gorgeous as a set of wheels built for 8 stone racing snakes!
Your wheels are hand built here in the UK by Andy Morgan, owner and founder of k1 wheels.
It's an incredibly fast-moving time for road disc systems at the moment with lots of competing standards for Axle types and frame fitting methods and for rotor fastening.
Handbuilt to order and available for the whole wide range of modern axle and rotor fitment systems. Whatever your frame needs we can configure these wheels to your bike. And even if you change your bike - the hubs are all simply convertible to all the other axles standards! We think that's massively important as it future-proofs your wheels! (no one wants to be left with the betamax of hub types and obsolete wheels!)
Technical details below.
Or just drop us a line If you don't know what system your bike has (you won't be alone - many people very understandably don't know, they just want to ride their bike after all!)
AXLES : We can configure your wheel axles to meet your frame requirements. So whether you have standard quick release or the more modern "thru-axle" setup, or whether you have 135mm or 142 mm rear spacing, we can supply them ready-to-roll!
ROTOR FITMENT : We use Bitex 6-Drive hubs so you’ll need 6-bolt rotors with these wheels. If your bike currently has centerlock then don’t worry. Just get some 6-bolt rotors and fit them to your new wheels and away you go!

I just thought I'd send you a quick email now I've had these wheels for a while. They are simply superb. I am faster up hills and on the flat too. They make the most satisfying noise when I ride, a gentle whirr that oozes quality. And they just spin and spin! I took them to the lakes for a cycling tour and they are just a huge step up from my ultegras. So thanks for taking the time to advise me before I bought and the generally excellent service. I will certainly use you again and have already recommended you to my cycling pals.
Thanks for the wheels. Great value and ideal for CX👍🏻
It took a while to decide to get these wheels as choices for disc specific wheels are increasing but Andy's advice over several emails sealed the deal. I must say I'm very happy. These wheels roll superblyand climbing hills feels like I've got a 34 on the rear cassette! The spesh axis OEM wheels will not be coming back even in the winter. As a bit of a strava addict, the collection of new PRs is great and over 60 to 100+ mile outings I'm gaining at least 1mph as an average. First time I rode the wheels I thought I was going to crash. They are so sharp at cornering it took a while to get used to them. In short highly recommended. Stiff, light, responsive. Nuff said
