The 58/85UC deep wheelset is superbly aero, beautifully balanced, and reassuringly well constructed from industry standard Japanese carbon.
The 58mm semi-toroidal front wheel is both superbly aerodynamic and extremely light.(this is the advantage that full carbon offers) The rim shape gives it superb cross-wind handling characteristics too.
This is coupled with our ultra-deep rear 85mm deep rear - to minimise drag and give you every watt of power - and at superbly low weight. As little as 1780 grams a PAIR in its lightest build option.
Your wheels will be hand built to order in the UK. (current build times are 14-21 days).

The 25 mm wide 58/85UC's 's are built around our modern "semi U" shaped structural carbon semi-toroidal aero rim. designed to run best with 23-28mm wide tyres but will also run 23c tyres fine). The rim is designed to cut through the air going forward, whilst maintaining a superb lateral integrity to cross-winds across a full range of wind "yaw" angles.
In terms of rim width we think we've really hit the sweet spot with this years entire range of rim-brake carbons being from 25-26.5mm wide. We carefully explore all of the many possible widths that aero wheels are being developed in. We develop and continually hone our own testing protocols to this effect - and critically we look at a whole raft of practical issues too that many rim makers simply overlook. For example frame spacing: Yes its possible to go wider - but at what point do wheels begin to compromise the frame. The last thing you want is to find that your carbon wheels rub your frame the moment you get out of the saddle! 25-26.5mm wide is in our view the best blend of performance and practical usability in our experience.
Narrow Clearance Frame?: if you have a narrow clearance frame - we can special order in some 23mm or even 20mm wide rims for you and we do find that's the only solution for owners of many older bikes.
NOTE: These wheels are ideal for UK roads and descents in all but the hottest weathers. If you are intending to race very long descents in hot weathers (such as continental summer sportives or just want a more familiar braking feel - you may want to look at our full-carbon filament-wound wheels. All full carbon rim-brake wheels (from all brands) do need more considered "pulsed" braking on long hot descents to prevent rims from heating too much (Our full-carbon filament-wound rims have amongst the highest temperature-resistant rim tech available!). Keep it safe and keep it simple: If you are in any doubt in unfamiliar conditions - Use your Alloys that day. We also advise avoiding latex inner-tubes in unusually hot conditions and upgrading brake-blocks to SwissStop Yellows.
The technology has come such a long way in recent years that most riders are now fine with full-carbons, and they are lighter of course. We just like to give our customers all the facts . In fact we have never had a single rim issue on any our carbon wheels - we think this is because we are very straight with people about their relative advantages and disadvantages! Andy just to let you know, used the wheels you made me last year at a duathlon this morning, almost 6 minuets off my bike time, they felt so fast! Can’t recommend you wheels, highly enough, they really are class , even the winter wheels I bought from you are brilliant, and I have been through some wheels in my cycling and triathlon years , (56 now lol). thank you - will let you know how rest of races go.

Wheels fettled and given fiery baptism. Course PB and top ten placing. I reckon worth 20-30 secs over 10m. They look the business too.
Recently purchased a set of wheels for my TT bike after a long discussion with Andy at Kinetic - One who was really helpful and pleased to chat. Who can argue with the price? Yes I know there are better known names out there (with much higher price tags) and there are lighter weight ones out there (you know we've all heard the arguments for and against wheel weight). Having now ridden these wheels on a local 10 TT, I have a number of conclusions; they look fantastic ... they sound fantastic (maybe not disc sounding fantastic but hey!) ... they will help me go faster ... they are more than worth the money. I trust and hope these wheels will see me good for a while but am assured by the fact that any issues I know Kinetic - One will be more than happy to help out. Can't praise the wheels or the service enough - K1 wheels are comparable with the best at a fraction of the price.
I'd been searching for a new pair of wheels for my TT bike for a number of months prior to finding Kinetic One. These wheels met all my requirements and the service from Andy has been fantastic. I wanted a pair of aero wheels that I'd be able to use in all weather conditions as well as being fast! I've had them on my TT bike for a month now and they feel and look fantastic. At a recent standard distance triathlon I was 10 mins quicker on the 40km bike and finished just outside the top 10 overall. I was using a different bike (and more training) than the previous last year but I'm sure the wheels helped. I’ve bought 2 sets of wheels from kinetic- one and they are fantastic! Andy is very helpful and always willing to discuss options and been always at the end of the phone..... I still remember my last phone call and what started off as a chat about various options..... turned into a 90min chat all about bikes and time trials!! Top bloke
These wheels are a step change from what I'd been used to and have made a noticeable difference to my acceleration and top speed. It feels like they spin with almost no effort and climbing with them in the Kent Alps is a joy. I don't race, but happily fly along on the open road at 30+mph with these wheels. Would highly recommend.
