2020 Kinetic-One K150-UC (Full Carbon) "2-way fit" wheelset

INTENDED USE: Our "Do Everything" carbon wheelset. This wheelset is ideal for Time Trials, Triathlons, and also spot-on for sportives, bunch-racing, and general road work.

The 50UC continues to be one of the most popular wheelsets we produce and is an ideal upgrade for athletes seeking quality British handbuilt wheels on a ‘sensible’ budget.

Designed to be aero, to be strong and at 1545 grams in the standard “aero”version (with a 1450 gram option available too)  ........ to be extremely light too.

Your wheels will be hand built in the UK by Andy Morgan, owner and founder of k1 wheels. Turnaround time is usually 7-9 days (exact times shown at checkout).

With a choice of 23mm or 25mm wide rims it is aimed at those riders who prefer an ultra modern rim profile - critically without going too wide to cause frame clearance issues! The handling characteristics and strength of modern U rims is superb - even in pretty serious crosswinds - especially when compared to the V-rims of only a few years ago.

Optimised for tyres from 23c, 25c, 28c right  right up to 40c and beyond. Please make sure your frame can take a wider rim if you go for this option! Or contact us if you’re not sure... we do like to help our customers get it right first time.

Perfect for running tyres at lower pressure, whether you choose clincher or TUBELESS tyre setup!  And of course .......... far more aerodynamic and faster rolling than traditional hoops!

In terms of rim width we think we've really hit the sweet spot. We carefully explored all of the many possible widths that aero wheels are being developed in. We developed and continually honed our own testing protocols to this effect - and critically we looked at a whole raft of practical "real-world" issues too that many rim makers simply overlook.

Yes its possible to go wider but at what point do wheels begin to compromise the frame. The last thing you want is to find that your carbon wheels rub your frame the moment you get out of the saddle! 23-26 wide is in our view the best blend of performance and practical usability in our experience. And your bike will almost certainly run optimally with one of these options

Whether you intend to go wider or narrower - we'll have the right wheelset for you! And if you have an even narrower clearance frame - we can special order in some 20mm rims for you and we do find that's the only solution for users of many older bike models.

NOTE: These wheels are ideal for UK roads and descents in all but the hottest weathers. If you are intending to race very long descents in hot weathers (such as continental summer sportives or just want a more familiar braking feel - you may want to look at our full-carbon filament-wound wheels. All full carbon rim-brake wheels (from all brands) do need more considered "pulsed" braking on long hot descents to prevent rims from heating too much (Our full-carbon filament-wound rims have amongst the highest temperature-resistant rim tech available!). Keep it safe and keep it simple: If you are in any doubt in unfamiliar conditions - Use your Alloys that day. We also advise avoiding latex inner-tubes in unusually hot conditions and upgrading brake-blocks to SwissStop Black Prince.

The technology has come such a long way in recent years that most riders are now fine with full-carbons, and they are lighter of course. We just like to give our customers all the facts . In fact we have never had a single rim issue on any our carbon wheels - we think this is because we are very straight with people about their relative advantages and disadvantages! And please do read our page on safe braking/usage and care for your carbon wheels HERE

A friend put me onto this brand and I plumped for their carbon wheels after several useful email exchanges. My wheels are now a year old and I am very pleased with them. Deservedly 5***** in my opinion.

Des Lewis - Telford

Having previously bought a Kinetic-one bike it seemed a logical upgrade to go for these wheels. (They were about half the price of the Reynolds wheels they also do and I wasn''t sure I''d notice the difference to be honest - so i thought i''d save myself almost a grand and buy these!) They are Superfast wheels and very strong.

Beautiful wheels! Understated elegance and added speed. What's not to love!

Graham Perkins - Sittingbourne, Kent

I first contacted Andy with may questions about his wheels and it wasn't long before he put my mind at rest. I was so impressed with the amount of knowledge he had I didn't hesitate to purchase a pair of carbon wheels with alloy brake surface. The wheels are just great and a big improvment over my fulcrum racing 3's I had. They are stiff with no flex espeically up the hills. They roll fantastically and what surprised me the most was how much better they were up the hills too. The service is second to none and Andy was always there if I had anything to ask. Cracking wheels considering the price and great looking to. Oh and very light too!!! Thanks again Andy.

I decided on the K1 50s and the intro offer was really good value. The wheels perform brilliantly. Really smooth, stuff and cornering feels great. After a couple of weeks I found one of the spoke nipples was loose. I emailed Kinetic one and they had the wheel picked up quickly. Few days later it was back with me and all sorted. Communicstion was great, and I'd go as far as saying their customer service was just as good as their wheels. I would recommend these wheels to anyone who wants great performance, great looks and a fantastic price. Very very happy.

Just wanted to pass on more thanks to you! I completed the iron distance Outlaw triathlon on Sunday, in the most horrific conditions! I saw plenty of people blown clean off their bikes, as well as many more blown off course. I however was very happy with my medium section wheelset! Just as you advised and predicted, they were a perfect compromise for when you only have one wheelset.

No complaints whatsoever from me. As and when I'm in need of another wheelset, I won't be looking anywhere else.

Guy Willetts - Nottingham

Lovely self assured wheels that roll brilliantly

Ceri Stone - UK

I love the wheels. They are great value for money and after getting to stick 60 miles into them over the weekend they are exactly what I was looking for. Aerodynamic enough to cut through strong winds and light and stiff enough to glide up the Welsh hills and respond when I put the hammer down. Brilliant set of wheels.
